About Us
Esan Akugbe Worldwide e.V in collaborate with Nigeria Consulate in Frankfurt, Germany, organised
the first ever Nigeria – German Carnival in Europe on the 10 th of September 2022 in Frankfurt,
Germany. The carnival celebrated the rich culture and diversity of Nigeria, Africa´s most populous
country, and showcased various aspects of Nigeria heritage and traditions.
The main purpose of this carnival was to promote peaceful coexistence among people from diverse
cultural backgrounds and to encourage integration into German´s rich multicultural society. The
event featured a street procession through the city of Frankfurt am Main, with participation from
German associations.
During the Carnival, Esan Akugbe Worldwide showcased traditional acrobatic dances, including
Igbabornelimin, Ijeleghe. Other Nigerian cultural groups were also represented, including Arewa
cultural dance, Igbo with their Masquerade performers and Yoruba cultural groups.
The Nigeria – German carnival was initiated by the Nigerian Consulate in Frankfurt am main under
the leadership of General Ambasador Wahab A. Akande. The event was organised and executed in
collaboration with Esan Akugbe Worldwide e.V, a registered association in Germany, under the
leadership of its president, Sir Balogun Abhulimen Momodu the President of the Association.
